Do THIS before deciding your goals for 2022 | Positive psychology for goal setting

Unfortunately… You might set goals in 2022 that HINDER your ability to enjoy {& achieve} them.

You may follow a goal setting tips for 2022 video that feeds you the very popular & very wrong advice that goal setting requires any ounce of criticism.

You might watch this video (full of research, data & practical advice) & STIILL shy away from my using self compassion for goal setting

  • because compassionate goals seem too good to be true

  • because positive psychology for goal setting offers a different, & therefore uncomfortable, perspective

  • because you’ll think, “I cant get rid of my inner critic because i’ll get complacent.”

You know what I’m doing to set myself up for success in 2022? Before setting new years goals, I’m reminding myself of what the feel-good research says: use self-compassion.

Even more.

And no, it won’t make you complacent - it’s shown to ENHANCE goal attainment & positive change.

And yes, it feels freaking good - far better than submitting to the mean inner critic that says you can’t, or you should feel ashamed, or you’re not worthy.
